preventative
maintenance

Preventative maintenance is highly recommended to ensure the efficiency and longevity of your system. We recommend it is performed at least once annually starting one year from installation date. Manufacturer recommends indoor units cleaned bi-annually. Neglect or lack of maintenance could result in multiple issues not covered by warranty.

Annual or bi-annual packages available. Price per indoor unit upon sign up. Multiple outdoor units charged as one.

Clean the air filters

Check and clean the air filters on the indoor unit regularly, especially during winter when the system recirculates indoor air. You can clean the filters monthly or every two weeks during peak usage seasons. An indicator light on the unit may alert you when the filters need cleaning.

Remove snow and ice

Keep the outdoor unit clear of snow and ice, which can block airflow and reduce the system's efficiency. You can gently remove snow around the unit and use a soft brush to clear any ice that may have formed on it. You can also install a protective roof or cover.

Inspect the evaporator coils

Have the evaporator coils inspected annually by a technician. If they are dirty, the technician can clean them to help maintain energy efficiency.

Check for Rodents

Rodents like mice and rats can enter air conditioning systems through small spaces, ductwork, and condenser units. They can chew on wires and drain lines, and the warm, dry insulation inside air conditioners is a good place for them to nest. Use repellents: Use oils, sprays, herb sachets or moth balls to repel pests. Inspect your units frequently.
